About heart diseases in cats:

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is the most common heart disease in cats and is most often caused by a genetic mutation. This mutation is becoming a serious factor in the Cornish Rex breed.

Kaylee is one of the few breeders in the USA that scans all of its breeding cats for HCM annually, neutering those who show signs of this devastating diagnosis or even just a heart murmer which and be the early detection of it. In fact many of our cats' HCM scans are posted next to their pictures on the following pages.
